Sign In to VoteIQueryAmbient is used by Styles – from the docs: “An ambient property is a property where the value must be available in the parser context to objects that exist as child objects in an object tree”

This was most likely a .NET 3.5 WPF application migrated to .NET 4, right?  IQueryAmbient was moved in WPF 4 into the System.Xaml assembly, so you’ll need to add a reference to that assembly.  Newly created, .NET 4 WPF apps reference this by default.

2. After installing crystal report for 2010 this error comes

type or namespace name ‘Shared’ does not exist in the namespace ‘CrystalDecisions’ (are you missing an assembly reference?)

ans :

The framework in project properties was set as .net Framework 4 client profile and i changed it to .net Framework 4

Could not load file or assembly ‘file:///C:\\Program Files\\SAP BusinessObjects\\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\\win32_x86\\dotnet1\\crdb_adoplus.dll’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

A little searching lead to the release notes document.  Looks like a known Beta 2 issue:

A report based on an ADO.NET DataSet will not work if the project targets the 4.0 .NET Framework.  Reports based on an ADO.NET DataSet will not work if the project targets the 4.0 .NET Framework.  As a workaround, add following part into app.config or web.config files:

<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy=”true”>
    <supportedRuntime version=”v4.0″/>

4. General combo box issue

You may receive the error “Cannot have multiple items selected in a DropDownList.” when trying to set a value selected in an ASP.NET Dropdownlist.

This error specifically occurs if you are trying to execute a similar code as follows:-
DropDownList1.Items.FindByValue(“3”).Selected = true;

DropDownList1.Items.FindByText(“Sports”).Selected = true;

This error doesnt occur if you try to use

DropDownList1.SelectedIndex = 3;
DropDownList1.SelectedItem.Value = “3”; (Wrong way of implementation. But people use this)

The resolution is that, you just have to mention DropDownList1.ClearSelection(); before using DropDownList1.Items.FindByValue(“3”).Selected = true;

The correct step is as below:-

DropDownList1.Items.FindByValue(“3”).Selected = true;

DropDownList1.Items.FindByText(“Sports”).Selected = true;

5. Telerik

~/Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd’ is missing in web.config. RadScriptManager requires a HttpHandler registration in web.config.
